A Deadly Expedition Begins
If you find yourself walking through tall grass in Jurassic World, ticks are the least of your concerns. In the first trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali learn this the hard way. Released just ahead of Super Bowl Sunday, the footage teases a pulse-pounding adventure into uncharted dinosaur territory.
A New Chapter in the Franchise
Director Gareth Edwards describes Rebirth as “a brand-new chapter in this franchise,” and the trailer makes it clear just how much has changed. Set five years after Jurassic World Dominion, dinosaurs are once again on the brink of extinction, migrating to the only climate left that can sustain them—a small tropical biosphere near the equator. It’s here that our protagonists must navigate a world teeming with prehistoric threats.
A High-Stakes Mission
Zora Bennett (Johansson) and ship captain Duncan Kincaid (Ali) are on a mission for a powerful pharmaceutical company, tasked with retrieving DNA from the three largest dinosaurs of land, sea, and air. Dr. Henry Loomis (Bailey), a paleontologist, joins the expedition for his expertise, while Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend) represents Big Pharma’s vested interests in their success.
A Stranded Crew and a Nightmare Island
But their mission takes a drastic turn when they intercept a mayday call from the Delgado family, whose boat has been wrecked by an aquatic dinosaur attack. The team finds themselves stranded on a mysterious island—home to the first research facility of the original Jurassic Park. Inside, they uncover a horrifying truth: this island was a dumping ground for the park’s “failed experiments”—dinosaurs deemed too dangerous for even the ill-fated park itself.
“These dinosaurs were too dangerous for the original park,” Henry warns. “The worst of the worst were left here.”
An Unrelenting Thrill Ride
Edwards teases an adrenaline-fueled survival story: “Once you’re on the adventure, the film doesn’t let go until the end credits. The enjoyment of it is in the moment-to-moment chase, escape, scare, horror, and curveballs throughout the set pieces and dinosaur moments.”
Star-Studded Cast
The cast also includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer) as Reuben Delgado, Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), and Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez) as members of the Delgado family. Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool) round out the ensemble as part of Zora and Martin’s crews.
With Jurassic World Rebirth, the franchise ventures into terrifying new territory—where survival means facing the deadliest dinosaurs ever created.
