The four-day immersive retreat will bring together Indian classical music, wellness and nature-led experiences from June 19–22, 2026
Gir Forest, Gujarat | May 2026: To mark World Music Day, Woods at Sasan is geared up to host Som Swar — a four-day healing-through-music retreat from June 19–22, 2026, curated with Abhilasha Ojha. Set amidst the natural landscape of Gir Forest, the retreat brings together Indian classical music, wellness and immersive experiences designed around restoration, reflection and deeper connection.
As travellers increasingly move towards more meaningful and experience-led journeys, Som Swar aims to create a space where music, nature and mindful living come together in an intimate setting.
“Hospitality today is evolving beyond stays and destinations. Travellers are increasingly looking for experiences that help them reconnect with themselves, with culture and with nature. Through Som Swar, we wanted to create something immersive and restorative, rooted in the natural environment of Gir,” shared Laurent Guiraud, Chief Operating Officer, Woods at Sasan.
“The retreat has been thoughtfully designed around two experiences — Som-Raag, inspired by healing ragas, grounding practices and mindful musical immersion, and Som Baithak, an intimate classical music gathering rooted in the traditional Hindustani baithak format that encourages deeper cultural and emotional connection,” he further added.
The retreat also comes at a time when music tourism and immersive cultural experiences are gaining momentum, with travellers increasingly moving beyond conventional city tours and sightseeing itineraries in search of deeper, experience-led journeys.
Sharing her thoughts on curating the retreat, Abhilasha Ojha, Musician & Sr. Journalist said, “We are seeing a growing interest in experiences centred around music therapy, sound-led healing and culturally rooted travel. People today are looking for journeys that feel more meaningful and restorative.”
She further added, “With Som Swar, the idea is to create an intimate space where Indian classical music is experienced beyond performance — as something that can heal, connect and help people slow down. We hope guests leave with a deeper sense of stillness and connection.”
Guests will experience a curated programme featuring guided raag therapy sessions, intimate baithak concerts, forest listening walks, sound therapy, silent dinners, mindful conversations and immersive nature-led experiences, all designed to encourage restoration, reflection and connection.
