  • This International Women’s Day, FRND spotlights women-first design and safety-by-design features enabling safer digital conversations across Bharat

Bangalore, 5th March, 2026: As India’s next wave of internet users comes online from Tier 2–4 towns, safety is emerging as the defining factor of digital trust, especially for women seeking meaningful connections. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, FRND, India’s avatar-based audio social discovery platform and the marquee product of Interact Group, has launched ‘Surakshit Conversations’, a campaign that highlights the platform’s women-first safety design.

Through this campaign, FRND aims to strengthen awareness around digital safety and build a culture of respectful, secure interactions for women on the platform. As part of the initiative, the company will host regular in-app sessions to educate women users on safe online behaviour, identifying red flags, and making the most of the platform’s safety features. Additionally, FRND will launch a 24×7 toll-free helpline to provide real-time support and guidance to users whenever needed. Aligned with the Government of India’s vision of creating a safer and more inclusive digital ecosystem, the campaign seeks to equip women across Tier 2–4 markets with both knowledge and accessible support systems, ensuring trust remains at the core of every interaction.

Built for Bharat users, FRND has placed safety at the core of its product architecture. The platform currently hosts nearly a million conversations every day, supported by a 100-member moderation team and real-time AI systems that monitor video, audio, and chat interactions.

From live moderation in public rooms to AI-assisted checks in private conversations, the platform’s safety systems are designed to prevent misuse before it escalates. Women users have access to a dedicated safety centre that allows them to warn, remove, or block users instantly, giving them complete agency over every interaction. To further safeguard user privacy, screen recording during video calls and taking screenshots of chats are strictly prohibited on the platform. The platform also uses AI to detect objectionable content, analyse chats in real time, and identify repeat offenders, even if they attempt to return with new devices or identities. The design architecture of the platform ensures that during video interactions 80% of the screen is the user’s face or else the screen goes blurry.

Bhanu Pratap Singh Tanwar, Co-founder & CEO, Interact Group, said, “As social networks expand deeper into Bharat, safety is no longer a feature, but a foundation of trust. For many women in Tier 2–4 towns, their first digital interaction shapes how safe the internet feels to them. At FRND, we have built a women-first safety architecture, combining AI, moderation, and product design, so that conversations remain respectful, intentional, and empowering. ‘Surakshit Conversations’ is our way of bringing this commitment to the forefront and adding another layer of protection to our systems. From regular in-app safety sessions to a 24×7 toll-free helpline, this campaign is designed to equip them with the knowledge and real-time assistance they need.”

Echoing this Bindu, a FRND user from Bangalore, shared, “What makes FRND feel safer is that nobody can take screenshots, and during video calls, users have to show most of their face, so there’s less chance of misuse. If a conversation feels uncomfortable, I can take action instantly. That gives me the confidence to talk to new people without worrying about my safety.”

Through the ‘Surakshit Conversations’ campaign, FRND will spotlight safety features and community initiatives that promote respectful digital behaviour across the platforms. As Bharat’s digital communities grow, the future of social platforms will not be defined by how many conversations happen, but by how safe those conversations feel.
