Reliance has announced a new wave of AI-powered upgrades for the JioHotstar app, including a smart voice assistant, real-time dubbing, and enhanced cricket viewing modes.
Riya: The New AI Voice Assistant
Akash Ambani, Chairman of Jio, unveiled Riya, JioHotstar’s voice-enabled search assistant.
“Finding what to watch from thousands of hours of content can feel overwhelming. That’s why we have built Riya, your new voice-enabled search assistant that makes discovering content effortless,” Ambani said.
Riya is designed to understand natural language commands, helping users search across shows, episodes, and even years of content with ease.
Voice Print: Real-Time AI Dubbing
Another key addition is Voice Print, a real-time voice cloning feature. This AI-powered tool allows viewers to watch content in their preferred language while still hearing the original actor’s voice and expressions.
“With the power of AI voice cloning and lip-sync technology, your favorite stars will not just get dubbed, they will speak in your language, in their own voice, with perfect lip-sync on screen,” Ambani explained.
JioLenZ: Multiple Viewing Angles
JioHotstar will also introduce JioLenZ, a feature that lets users switch between different viewing angles depending on their device and screen. This promises a more personalized and dynamic viewing experience.
MaxView 3.0: Immersive Cricket Mode
For sports fans, MaxView 3.0 will deliver an upgraded cricket-watching experience. The feature provides live scorecards, instant highlights, multiple languages, and multi-camera angles — all optimized for the way users naturally hold their phones.
“This cricket viewing experience has been designed around the way you naturally hold your phone, making it more immersive, more intuitive and closer to the action than ever before,” Ambani added.
Availability
Reliance has not yet shared a launch timeline for these features on the JioHotstar app. Updates are expected to be announced later on the RIL or Jio website.
