Samsung is reportedly planning major display upgrades for its next-generation flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro. According to a new report, both premium devices could feature an improved version of Samsung’s Privacy Display technology, which debuted with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The development suggests that Samsung wants to make screen privacy a key differentiator across its high-end smartphone lineup. Alongside enhanced privacy protection, the upcoming Galaxy S27 models are also expected to receive improvements in display brightness and overall viewing experience.
Although Samsung has not officially confirmed these details, the latest reports have generated interest among smartphone enthusiasts waiting for the company’s next flagship generation.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Series May Include Four Smartphones
Samsung’s Galaxy S27 lineup could expand from three smartphones to four models, according to ongoing industry rumours.
The expected lineup includes:
- Samsung Galaxy S27
- Samsung Galaxy S27 Plus
- Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro
- Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra
One of the biggest differences between these devices could be the availability of Privacy Display technology.
According to information reported by SamMobile, the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro are expected to feature built-in Privacy Display capabilities. However, the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus may not receive this technology.
If accurate, this would give Samsung’s premium Pro and Ultra models another important advantage over the standard versions.
Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro Could Feature Better Privacy Display
Privacy Display was one of the standout features introduced with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. The technology is designed to restrict screen visibility from side angles, helping users protect sensitive information from people sitting or standing nearby.
This feature can be particularly useful when checking private messages, viewing banking information, entering passwords or accessing confidential documents in public places.
However, Samsung may not stop with the first-generation implementation.
According to the latest reports, the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro could receive an upgraded Privacy Display experience. Although specific technical improvements have not been revealed, Samsung could focus on better performance, improved stability and greater flexibility.
The objective would be to make privacy protection more practical without compromising everyday smartphone usability.
Samsung Could Take Inspiration From Xiaomi’s Privacy Display Features
There is also room for Samsung to introduce more advanced privacy controls by improving how different sections of the display behave.
For example, Xiaomi’s reported privacy-screen innovations have highlighted the possibility of protecting selected screen areas while allowing users to continue interacting with other content.
A similar approach could make Samsung’s Privacy Display technology considerably more versatile.
Imagine being able to hide sensitive notifications or private information while continuing to browse social media, read articles or use other applications normally.
Such functionality could make Privacy Display more useful than simply restricting visibility across the entire screen.
However, Samsung has not confirmed whether any split-screen privacy functionality will arrive with the Galaxy S27 series.
Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro May Offer Brighter Displays
Privacy Display improvements may not be the only screen-related upgrades planned for Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones.
The latest report also suggests that the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro could receive improvements in display brightness.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra already delivers an impressive viewing experience, with its high-resolution display offering sharp visuals and strong outdoor readability.
Nevertheless, improved brightness could make the next-generation devices even more convenient for users who frequently operate their smartphones outdoors.
Better screen visibility under direct sunlight, improved viewing comfort and enhanced display performance could become important selling points for the Galaxy S27 premium lineup.
It remains unclear whether Samsung will introduce identical brightness improvements across all four Galaxy S27 models.
More Galaxy S27 Ultra Display Upgrades Could Be Coming
Earlier rumours have also pointed towards additional display-related improvements for the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
While the exact specifications remain uncertain, Samsung could be preparing several refinements to make its next flagship smartphone stand out in the increasingly competitive premium smartphone market.
The combination of enhanced Privacy Display technology, higher brightness and other possible screen improvements could make the Galaxy S27 Ultra an attractive upgrade for users prioritising display quality and privacy.
However, these upgrades could also influence the final retail price, particularly if Samsung introduces significant hardware changes.
Should You Buy the Galaxy S26 Ultra or Wait for the Galaxy S27 Ultra?
For consumers considering a premium Samsung smartphone, the decision between purchasing the Galaxy S26 Ultra and waiting for the Galaxy S27 series could become increasingly interesting.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra already offers Privacy Display technology, making it an attractive choice for users who value screen privacy.
However, those interested in potentially improved privacy controls, brighter displays and additional flagship features may prefer to wait for the next generation.
It is important to remember that the reported Galaxy S27 specifications and features have not been officially confirmed by Samsung. Buyers should therefore treat these details as early rumours rather than final product specifications.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra: What to Expect
If the latest reports prove accurate, the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro could represent an important step forward in Samsung’s display technology.
The expansion of Privacy Display to two premium models, combined with possible improvements in brightness, stability and privacy controls, could strengthen Samsung’s position in the flagship smartphone segment.
More details about the Galaxy S27 lineup are expected to emerge as development progresses. Until Samsung makes an official announcement, the final specifications, features and pricing remain unknown.
