A Timeless Tribute to Tamil Literature and Devotion
Chennai, 17th May 2025: GIRI Trading Agency Private Limited, a leading name in spiritual retail and a pioneer in uplifting Indian culture, tradition, and literature, proudly celebrated the launch of its latest publication, “Lakshmi’s Kambaramayanam”, authored by acclaimed Tamil poet Kavi Lakshmi Ravi, under its publishing division GIRI Books Publications.
The launch event, held at Giri Hindu Shopping Mall in Mylapore, Chennai, was graced by the presence of Dr. R. Uma Bharathi, a noted scholar and literary figure, and a proud descendant of Mahakavi Subramania Bharathi. Dr. Bharathi formally released the book and delivered a captivating keynote address, highlighting the enduring spiritual and literary value of the Kambaramayanam.
Kavi Lakshmi Ravi, the author of the book, presented the essence of her work — a contemporary yet authentic poetic rendition of Sage Valmiki’s Ramayana as reimagined by Kavi Kamban. The book aims to make the epic accessible and relatable to readers of all ages, especially students and seekers of devotional literature.
A special talk on the theme “The Epic Ramayana” was also held during the event, drawing participation from academics, spiritual enthusiasts, and Tamil literature patrons.
